Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, in 2025. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, this electric SUV aims to challenge established players like Tata and Mahindra.

The e-Vitara is expected to feature a 60 kWh battery with a 500 km range on a single charge. Production will begin at Maruti’s Gujarat plant by mid-2025. The company is also focusing on expanding India’s charging infrastructure, installing fast chargers across major cities.

To make EVs more affordable, Maruti is exploring battery rental options. This could reduce upfront costs and encourage wider adoption. Despite concerns over profitability, Maruti plans to use its extensive dealer network to strengthen its EV presence.
With a competitive price and strong brand trust, the e-Vitara is expected to be a game-changer in India’s EV segment.
